The Python Seniors are up and running. In their very first game in the Hanover Basketball League, the team dug in for a hard fought 94 to 87 win over Kingpin Reloaded.
Both teams came out swinging. It was a close, back and forth battle through the opening exchanges, and the game stayed tight all the way into the second quarter with neither side able to break away.
No Looking Back After the Break
That is when the Seniors flipped the switch. Coming out of halftime they took over, seized the lead and never let it slip. Kingpin Reloaded tried to fight their way back into it, but the Python Seniors had already found their rhythm and kept them at arm's length the rest of the way.
The best part was how they did it. The ball zipped around the floor, everyone got involved, and the team looked sharp and connected. That is proper team basketball, and it is a great sign of what this group can do.
First of Many
A first win means a lot, and the Python Seniors earned every bit of this one. Huge congratulations to the whole squad on getting the campaign off to the perfect start.
