The Python Seniors have a new name behind them. We are proud to announce Manong George as the official sponsor of the Python Seniors for their Hanover Basketball League campaign.

Who is Manong George?

If you are a Filipino in the UK, there is a good chance you already know him. George is an OFW who has spent more than fifteen years working and building a life abroad. Along the way he became a storyteller and a community builder, and today his YouTube channel Manong George is home to more than 700 videos of real stories from OFWs in the UK and around the world.

His videos are not polished corporate content. They are honest conversations about the struggles, the sacrifices, the small wins and the big dreams that keep every kababayan going. The behind the scenes of working abroad, staying rooted in our culture, and chasing better opportunities for the people back home. As he puts it, no sugarcoating, just real talk. Tara, kwentuhan tayo.

George is also the founder of the Filipino UK Nurse community, a growing network that helps Filipino nurses and healthcare workers in the UK find jobs, connect with partners, share discounts and come together at events. Many of our supporters will remember the SAMA Summer Get Together in Luton this August. That was his community, and it was their first show of support for our club.

Why the Seniors

The Python Seniors are our Over 35s side in the Hanover Basketball League. Most of the squad came to the UK as OFWs, the same journey George talks about every week on his channel. They work long shifts, raise families, send money home, and still turn up every Saturday to play for each other. That is exactly the story Manong George tells, so backing this team made perfect sense.

His support helps cover what keeps the Seniors on the court, from league entry and uniforms to game day costs, and it lets the lads focus on the one thing they came for: dethroning the Wildcats.
